About this Event
Pastors, ministry leaders, Jesus-followers – Rosedale Bible College invites you to campus for our annual Training in Ministry retreat, August 15-17, 2024. In a relaxed and peaceful environment, Phil Weber, a long-time RBC faculty member, will help us explore what it means to “rightly divide the word of truth…” II Tim. 2:15. All participants will receive a copy of Grasping God’s Word by J. Scott Duvall and J. Daniel Hays, a classic book on the subject. We hope you join us for this time of learning, spiritual renewal, and restored hope!
Sessions
This year’s retreat features five sessions.
- Does the Bible really need interpretation?
- What are we reading when we read the Bible?
- How do we move from interpretation to appropriate application?
- How should we approach biblical prophecy?
- How do we read the Gospels for all they’re worth?
We will also have cafe time, breakout sessions, and a group bonfire experience.
Admission
All tickets include meals, but we offer two ticket options, one that includes lodging and one that does not. Your stay in a dorm room is on campus and less expensive than a hotel, but it also includes fewer amenities. Dorm stays include single beds, a roommate, and a shared bathroom. Training in Ministry students receive a discounted admission.

About Phil Weber
With brief exceptions, Phil has been employed by non-profit missions or educational institutions since graduating from high school. A few sources for illustrations from his life include growing up in the South, doing prison ministry, farming, serving on church leadership teams, being the youngest member of a large family, and being a husband to Twila, father, and grandfather. Phil’s favorite moments as a teacher come when he sees the light of new understanding dawn on the face of a student, or when a student asks a question that shows deep insight or engagement with the Scripture.
Admission
All tickets include meals, but we offer two ticket options, one that includes lodging and one that does not. Your stay in a dorm room includes community and is cheaper than you will pay in a hotel, but it is also a more basic stay than you will experience in a hotel. Dorm stays include single beds, a roommate, and shared bathroom situations. Training in Ministry students receive a discounted admission.
