Lifelong Connections

Fred Newswanger (88,90), Kelvin Snider (84,85,88,97), Bob (88,92) and Zonya (Lehman) (85,86) Good, and Treva (Stutzman) Boericke (84,87) five RBC alumni, have maintained a unique and enriching friendship ever since they met one another in Rosedale. Their friendship has expanded to include spouses and children and taken them to 30 years of annual reunions in far-flung locations like Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Berkshires, Mass. It all began in the summer of 1990 when Fred, Kelvin, Bob and Zonya visited Treva in Philadelphia, Pa. “We are grateful for these lifelong connections God has placed in our lives,” Treva spoke for the group, adding, “The group has been a safe place to explore ideas and share life’s struggles and joys. Hopefully our experience can inspire others to be intentional about keeping in touch with old friends.” Fred lives in New Holland, Pa., where he works as Facility Maintenance Technician at Garden Spot Village. On Nov. 7, 2020, the group expanded once again to include Fred’s new wife Glenda Gingrich who works at Landis Communities. Kelvin is a self-employed cabinet maker and trim carpenter based in Rosedale, Ohio. Bob and Zonya live in Waynesboro, Pa., where Bob is a brick/block/stone mason, and Zonya gives personal and respite care to the elderly and disabled while “dabbling in catering.” Treva and her husband Karl Boericke, live in Ft. Wayne, Ind., where Treva is a self-employed accountant, and Karl is a field service engineer. (Photos then (1991) and now).
