Christology is the branch of systematic theology that bears directly upon the person and work of Christ. This course will be divided between a study of the person of Christ (i.e. his deity, his humanity, and their relation) and the works of Christ (with emphasis on the atonement). Relevant historical voices will be engaged throughout, representing both exemplars and distortions of sound Christology. The practical importance of a sound Christology for gospel proclamation and Christian discipleship will be explored through focused conversations and guided reflections upon the life and work of the church.
