Q: How many students attend RBC? A: We are a small college with typically 75 – 100 students on campus at any given time.Q: Do I have to live on campus? A: RBC has chosen to be a residential college and expects that students will live in the dorms. Exceptions are made for local students living at home and for students 24 and older. The dean of students will also consider written requests to live off campus for students with extenuating circumstances.Q: What kinds of music may I listen to? A: You are encouraged to enjoy everything positive that music has to offer. Like any creative expression, music can also be corrupted. Music that includes vile language, graphic sexual or violent imagery, and sexual innuendo is not permitted for students enrolled at RBC, either on or off-campus. See page 11 of the student handbook for the complete music policy.Q: Are there any class dress requirements? A: Yes. We ask our students to avoid overly casual attire and athletic clothes in favor of slightly more formal and professional attire during class hours. See page 6 of the student handbook for a more detailed description of class dress expectations.Q: May I have overnight guests? A: Guests are welcome. Please pre-register your guests with the resident director. See page 18 of the student handbook for more on hosting guests.Q: How are roommates assigned? A: Each student is asked to complete a roommate selection guide. The dean of students, along with the resident directors of each dorm, uses that information to assign roommates.Q: Do you have internet access? A: Yes. We have a computer lab with 8 internet ready computers, as well as several laptop connections available. Wireless internet service available is available in our library, chapel, and office building.Q: May I bring my computer to school? A: Yes.Q: What churches are in the area? A: We are located close to several large metropolitan areas so there are many churches for you to choose from. Most of our students choose to attend one of the Conservative Mennonite Conference churches in the area. Click here to see a local church directory.Q: Do you have an organized sports program? A: We currently offer an organized intramural sports program where students have the opportunity to play various sports including basketball, volleyball. Other recreational activities are also planned. We do not offer an intercollegiate sports program.Q: Are there ways for me to be involved in ministry to the local community? A: Absolutely. A Bible education would not be complete without offering ways for students to minister to others. Please see our Ministry Formation pages for more information.Q: Do I have to attend chapel every day? A: Chapel is scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. Students are also placed in a faculty–led prayer group that meets on Tuesdays during the chapel period. There are no regularly scheduled chapel services on Thursday. If you have any other questions related to life at RBC please email Dean of Students Chris Jones. |
